Effect of prolonged use of hormonal contraception on ovarian reserve

Background and Objective: Contraception is widely used throughout the world, with 62% of reproductive-aged women. This trial was established to assess effect prolonged use hormonal contraception (HC) on ovarian reserve. Methods: retrospective randomized controlled performed 150 healthy females aged (20-35) years normal menstrual history had at least one offspring after spontaneous pregnancy. Participants were subdivided into equal three groups: first group (study group): injectable progesterone for more than four continuously, second combined oral contraceptive (COC) control group: didn’t HC (as intrauterine device, natural non-users any contraception). Results: Ovarian volume (OV) antral follicle count (AFC) significantly decreased in COC group. There a significant negative correlation between body mass index OV found. an insignificant age, gravidity, parity, BMI, usage duration both AFC, AMH among 3 controls. Conclusion: The ovary AFC no AMH. A age found users.
